What's Allowed & Prohibited?

To protect our transport fleet and follow local Travis County landfill safety guidelines, check what items can go in your roll-off dumpster.

Allowed Materials

  • Household Junk
    Furniture, old toys, clothing, cardboard, carpeting, paper, and general packaging materials.
  • Construction & Demolition Debris
    Drywall, lumber, siding, tiling, plastics, metals, shingles, and cabinetry.
  • Yard Waste & Green Waste
    Shrubs, tree limbs, grass clippings, leaves, logs, and soil. (Eligible for compost discounts!)
  • Heavy Materials (Special Terms)
    Concrete, asphalt, bricks, gravel, and sand are accepted. However, they must be placed in an 11-yard container to prevent overweight issues during lifting.

Prohibited Materials

  • Hazardous Chemical Waste
    Wet paint, paint thinners, chemical solvents, asbestos insulation, motor oil, fuels, and pesticides.
  • Batteries & Electronics
    Lithium batteries, lead-acid car batteries, televisions, computers, cell phones, and printers.
  • Tires & Rubber Tracks
    Automobile, truck, or industrial tires are banned by local landfill operations due to recycling rules.
  • Refrigerants (Freon Devices)
    Refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners cannot be loaded unless they have been certified and tagged as having Freon professionally removed.

Important Disposal Notice

Loading prohibited materials is a safety hazard and violates county ordinances. Landfill facilities inspect loads upon arrival. If prohibited items are discovered, you will be assessed a minimum sorting penalty fee of $150 plus any hazardous waste handling charges, and we may be forced to return the item to your property.
